Equipment

The Centre’s kit store contains all the specialised field equipment necessary for each student to gain experience in a range of techniques. For Geologists, this includes borrowing individual packs featuring hand lens, compass clinometer, steel pin and grain-size card. (Meanwhile Geographers get the chance to dye a river green with fluorescein!)

Each school group is assigned one of our five versatile classrooms – fully fitted with whiteboards, projectors and IT facilities – which will act as their base, and the venue for morning introductory lectures and evening follow-up classes.

We also have a boot store from which students may hire personal equipment designed for facing the toughest of Scottish weather (for a small charge).
