Lochranza

The government and public health representatives have made it clear that the best place for young people is outdoors. At Lochranza Centre CIC that is what we do best – work safely outdoors with young people. However, current education guidelines do not permit overnight stays for school groups. This is to the detriment of both pupils’ wellbeing and the outdoor education sector. There is a new petition to the UK Government and Parliament requesting a change to the guidance: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/330559.

For information about the Lochranza Centre’s response to Covid-19, see our page here. The safety of our guests and staff is at the forefront of our thinking, as we listen closely to what the governments of the UK as a whole and Scotland are saying. If you have any questions, rest assured we are here to deal with them if you email info@lochranzacentre.co.uk or give us a ring on 01770 830 637.

As part of the Lochranza Centre's contribution to the 2020 virtual Festival of Geology, we have created this PowerPoint, showcasing what we do at the Centre, and Arran's spectacular geology.

On Friday 23rd October the staff team completed the Three Lochs Adventure! This saw us walk and paddle the three inland lochs on the west side of Arran - Coire-Fhionn Lochan, Loch Tanna and Loch Iorsa. A touch wet underfoot, but we made it! This unique challenge was designed to raise funds to help the Centre get through the Covid-19 crisis and on to a positive future. We want to be here to keep doing what we love and indeed what our guests enjoy most when they are with us - getting out and about on our fantastic island. Your support continues to be massively appreciated. To see some pictures from the day, take a look on Instagram or Facebook.
